I wouldn't mind so much if the University Library had its ish together, but try getting anything done in that damn library... poor customer service!!! Nobody knows where anything is, and what's worse, nobody's willing to look for it. And students aren't authorised to look at all... we just have to depend on aforementioned inadequates to feel like doing their jobs before we get any serious help... suckS!!!!!!

I have papers to write, and i've been requesting the same books for weeks now - since we got our damn course outlines!! And nobody can find the ones I want.. apparently everybody just surmises that they were stolen by students or something... nobody really knows and nobody really cares. Then when I go to the West Indian Collection, where they do have copies of the books I want, I'm told I have to go back into the main library area and get the (missing) books there, because the WIC is a last resort. Can you say messed up??

I'm so damn lucky to know lecturers who are willing to lend me their copies of books, or else what the hell would I do? I'd hafta go into the bookstore and steal reads of whole chapters and ish.. (it's not easy to hide from a store attendant and read a whole chapter of a text, plus make notes... too much hassle... I know. I've done it.)

Got a little carried away there... this is teh season of essays adn tutorial presentations, plus I got a part-time writing gig (yahoo!) so my time is consumed between school adn that.

*We all watch as* Blogging falls to the sidelines... :(

Reading and taking notes in the bookstore, that's so funny, why didn't I ever think of that? Soon it will be Christmas, don't worry, I'm feeling the breeze already.

yes, i feel your pain; that library is not a library at all. a prison for books, but not a library. hush, you'll get through it. we all did.

Hey Ruth, come collect a couple of awards over at my place.

if only the library were as well appointed as the now blingy university grounds--

alas money never seems to be available to stock the library as it should be stocked and to hire student-friendly staff.

hush Ruthi, you can also search online for books, some are made available there, not in totality but whole segments...
